Talent Acquisition Lead - Early Careers, Experian

Justin Margherio is an accomplished Talent Acquisition Lead with over 17 years of experience in student attraction and recruitment. He currently oversees Talent Acquisition for Early Career Programs at Experian, managing the recruitment and development of early career initiatives across North America.

Justin began his career at The University of Tulsa as an Admission Counselor, where he was responsible for all admission and scholarship decisions for a territory spanning seven states. In 2012, he joined Monsanto (now Bayer) as a Senior Recruiter for Emerging Talent, collaborating with hiring managers and HR partners to develop effective recruitment strategies. During his nine years there, he hired 80–100 interns and co-ops annually, facilitated orientation for 250 new hires each year, and led the integration of consumer health and pharmaceutical divisions after Bayer’s acquisition of Monsanto. Notably, Justin developed and implemented a fully remote intern and co-op program during the COVID pandemic, increased gender diversity in the Sales and Production intern program by 20%, created an intern rotational program to enhance minority hiring, and launched an IT trainee program to build a pipeline for software engineers.

In 2021, Justin joined Experian as a Talent Acquisition Partner for Early Careers and was promoted to Talent Acquisition Lead for Early Careers just over a year later. Under his leadership, Experian’s internship program has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Internship Programs, with year-over-year increases in diversity and improved intern conversion rates, enhancing the return on investment for the company’s early career initiatives.

Justin is dedicated to building programs that empower early-career professionals to launch their careers while strengthening Experian’s future talent pipeline

Campus Recruiting That Works: Tools, Tactics, and Real-World Lessons from the Field

Campus recruiting has its own unique challenges - from high-volume hiring sprints to event management and intense competition. Despite these challenges, many teams are expected to get results using tools and processes that weren't designed for early talent hiring. The result? Slower processes, missed connections, and a harder time proving the business impact of your efforts.

In this session, campus recruiting professionals from companies of different sizes will share how they’ve evolved their strategies to meet today’s challenges. Through practical examples, we’ll explore what’s working (and what’s not) when it comes to planning events, tracking performance, engaging candidates, and building an early career program that delivers measurable business results.

Whether you’re running a small team or overseeing a large-scale program - or something in between - you’ll walk away with concrete ideas to improve your event outcomes and candidate experience. We’ll also talk about how to get the most out of your tech stack for maximum return on investment.
