Our annual conference experience designed to keep our community of University Recruiters, Early Career Talent Developers connected, inspired, and moving forward.

URx19 Speaker Selections Announced

We’re so excited to officially start the 3-month countdown to URx19!

As the conference chair, it has been great working with other members of the growing URx community. URx19, our 3rd annual URx conference is just around the corner! Thanks to Jess Boyd (URx19 Program Committee Lead) and the program committee we have a great lineup of amazing speakers sharing engaging content and thought-provoking working sessions!

When we came up with the theme of this year’s conference “Better Together” we had in mind 3 core ideas:

  1. Collaboration between internal teams that manage entry-level talent (University Recruiting, HR Ops, Learning & Development)
  2. Shared recruiting techniques for varying disciplines (Undergrad, Grad, MBA, etc.)
  3. Best practices shared across industries (Tech, Non-Tech, Sales, Marketing, etc)

Thanks a ton to the Program Committee who has done a phenomenal job of reviewing the numerous submissions (which is harder than you think!) and crafting an agenda that embodies the theme perfectly. Three sessions that I am particularly looking forward to are:

Stella Ashaolu (Founder & CEO of WeSolv) moderating a panel of tech industry-leading recruiters and hiring managers from Pinterest, Salesforce, and Google to discuss strategies that successfully align skills, diversity, and experience and I’m excited to learn how this evolves into an effective partnership.

Melisa Thomson (University Relations & Diversity Program Manager at CBS Interactive) will be presenting a session on how to integrate diversity into your internship program and I’m eager to hear how this has impacted the company and expect that those recruiting a broad range of majors will be able to combine ideas learned into their own program.

Sirrah Williams (University Recruiter at Square) will be moderating a panel about building an early talent engineering bootcamp which will emphasize the importance of investing in early-talent individuals and I hope that those recruiting non-tech individuals will be able to integrate some of the learnings into their own organization.

You can view the full schedule here, including the main stage curated by URx Producer, Wahab Owolabi, featuring the Chief Scientist at Dolby Laboratories, Chief Diversity Officer at Dropbox, and the Head of Talent at Affirm to name a few :).

To say we are excited is an understatement! The conference committees and I are working hard to create a memorable and lasting experience. If you’re passionate about the early talent recruiting & development space, want to learn & refine best practices, or perhaps just share ideas we hope you’ll join us in San Francisco and expand your professional knowledge as we learn better together.
